Biography

Dr. Ajai Prakash Gupta is a ex-Director (on Deputation) at the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), New Delhi, and is associated with CSIR–Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR–IIIM), Jammu.

Dr. Gupta has made significant contributions to laboratory accreditation, quality assurance, and regulatory science. He is an NABL Assessor for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (Testing and Calibration Laboratories) and ISO 17034:2016 (Reference Material Producers). He is also an approved Quality Control Expert for pharmaceutical and herbal products with the Jammu & Kashmir Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

At the international level, Dr Gupta is actively associated with AOAC INTERNATIONAL (USA) as a member of Expert Review Panels (ERPs) and Working Groups (WGs), contributing to the development, validation, and review of analytical methods for dietary supplements, contaminants, pesticides, heavy metals, acrylamide, ethylene oxide, botanical identity verification, and related areas.

Dr Gupta has authored 136 peer-reviewed research publications, 13 book chapters, and 5 patents, with an h-index of 37. He also serves as a reviewer for several leading international journals in the fields of analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, food chemistry, natural products, and quality assurance.
